In my journey thus far, I have lived and worked across multiple geographies spanning Asia, America, and Europe, exposing me to diverse cultures, perspectives, and ways of doing business. My father was a civil servant, and my mother was a lecturer who later pursued a career with various media houses. Growing up in India, I must have studied in at least ten schools before finishing up my higher education in Delhi. I went on to get my bachelor’s degree in history from St Stephens in 1994 then pursued an MBA around 1996 from FMS. I started my career in banking where I worked with corporate clients in the B2B space; and with the dot-com bubble peaking in the 2000s, I realized that most of the exciting opportunities I wanted to pursue were in the technology sector. This was a steep learning curve for me with great mentorship and exposure to different aspects of the technology business, while I lived in Boston, moved to New York, then Mexico, and finally, set up base with my wife and two daughters in London. In 2023, I got an opportunity to become part of the Mahindra Group and lead Tech Mahindra in its new phase of growth.

The necessity of having a long-term plan. Write a letter to yourself about how you see your career shaping up and channel all your energies into achieving that.
The need for taking risks, especially early on in your career. In my career trajectory, I am where I am because of the opportunities I embraced.
Building inner strength to be mentally resilient in life— whether through family, friendships, mentors, meditation, faith. Tough times don’t last, tough people do.
During my initial months at Tech Mahindra, I travelled across the world meeting our teams, customers, partners, and investors to gain a deeper understanding of our organization. These discussions have highlighted our strong foundation, depth of tech talent, and deep-rooted partnerships. With the Mahindra Group values embedded in our DNA, we remain unwaveringly committed to our Rise pillars – and will always inspire and drive a future-oriented mindset that is built on our existing strong foundation.
I am grateful for this incredible journey and the opportunities that have come my way, and excited for what lies ahead.
