Mumbai: Mahindra World City, Chennai, India’s first fully planned & integrated Business City, announced another first – the setting up of the country’s premium modern Integrated Residential Township, which is part of India’s first Work – Live – Learn – Play Community concept, pioneered by the Mahindras. This Integrated Residential Township will house the premier Mahindra World School, which will set new standards in education delivery in the country. Established to cater primarily to residents of Mahindra World City, Chennai, the Mahindra World School will run on the CBSE Syllabus and will commence classes from September 2007, being fully functional from June 2008.

Based on the CBSE syllabus, the Mahindra World School will have a low student – teacher ratio of 25:1, with an emphasis on testing higher order thinking skills against rote learning. Equipped with state of the art facilities including an Amphitheatre, Mathematics Lab, Science labs, Indoor and Outdoor play facilities, the School will also offer audio visual media in classrooms, and language labs to hone communication skills so vital in today's world. A highly qualified faculty will bring in rich experience and expertise to put the students through a rigorous, yet stimulating learning experience.

The Mahindra World School is an educational institution that will cater to the educational needs of these families. It will provide the finest blend of technology and innovation and will form part of the social infrastructure. The Mahindra World School is slated to create a revolution in education. Spread over a sprawling 5 acre campus, Mahindra World School will be set among wide open spaces with green surrounds giving it the perfect ambience and provide children with everything the opportunity to develop into well rounded individuals. Mahindra World School follows in the footsteps of the success of Mahindra United World College, Pune, which attracts global talent.

The School will begin with the Kindergarten section by September 2007 and will be fully functional from June 2008, where it will offer classes KG to VIII, adding on a new class every year. Primarily catering to children of employees and residents at Mahindra World City, Mahindra World School will also offer admissions to people residing in close proximity. The fee structure is expected to be on par with schools of a similar standard in Chennai

Integrated Residential Township

The Township will offer a vibrant green spaces integrating with the natural environment, promising a lifestyle that will be comparable with the finest and offering residents a totally new living experience. On offer will be a selection of a diverse mixture of living options ranging from picturesque independent villas, multi-family homes and spacious apartments. The township to be developed on the periphery of a 25 sq km perennial lake, will offer residents views of the hills and natural forest reserves that surround Mahindra World City.

The Integrated Residential Township will be set up by Mahindra Integrated Township Ltd (MITL), an SPV formed by Mahindra Gesco Developers Ltd (MGDL) & Mahindra World City Developers Ltd (MWCDL). The Township is Master planned by HOK International, globally renowned architects & master planners. The development of this Township will set benchmarks for Quality standards in the Country and is set to become a landmark in Chennai.

The Township will be developed in 4 phases and each phase will be self contained and supported by recreational facilities such as Club Houses, Sporting Facilities and Daily needs outlets, designed to provide residents all conveniences close at hand. The Master plan takes into consideration the natural ambience, allowing for free flow of natural light and air, while keeping in mind customs and traditions, such as Vaastu Shastra.

The first phase development of around 50 acres will offer around 1000 homes and will be launched in a few months time. An earlier project, 'Sylvan County' from Mahindra Gesco Developers Ltd. that offered 200 homes in a gated community was hugely successful, with all the homes taken up in a short space of time.
