Delhi, August 27, 2021 - The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has awarded a major contract to Mahindra Defence Systems Limited (MDS) worth Rs.1349.95 Cr for the manufacturing of Integrated Anti-Submarine Warfare Defence Suite (IADS) for modern warships of Indian Navy. Competitive bids from Indian companies were invited by MoD through open tender wherein the systems fielded were put through detailed trials at sea to prove their capability.
Delhi: BAE Systems and Mahindra Defence are in discussion to jointly develop an Indian mine protected vehicle based on BAE Systems’ highly successful RG-31 mine protected vehicle. BAE Systems has already supplied 165 mine protected vehicles known as Casspir to the Indian Army since 1999.
At this year’s 5th Defence and Naval Exhibition (DEFEXPO), a BAE Systems RG-31 will be on display on the Mahindra Defence stand.
Delhi: The 5th Defence and Naval Exhibition, DEFEXPO, will for the first time see a BAE Systems mine protected vehicle, the RG-31, on the Mahindra Defence stand. The companies are in discussion to jointly develop an Indian mine protected vehicle based on the highly successful RG-31.
Nearly 600 RG-31 vehicles are in service with US, Canadian and a number of other forces including the United Nations. 624 RG-31 have been ordered for the Pentagon’s Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) programme.
