Mr. Velusamy R, serving as the President of Automotive Technology & Product Development at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. and a Member of the Group Executive Board, boasts over 27 years of experience in vehicle and powertrain development.

Joining Mahindra & Mahindra in 1996, Velusamy began his career in powertrain development and is renowned as the visionary behind the cutting- edge M-Hawk engines. His leadership has been instrumental in the development and launch of several flagship products like The All New Thar, XUV700, ScorpioN, and the recent blockbuster models XUV3XO and Thar ROXX which have set new benchmarks in the automotive industry.

In addition to his role in product development, he spearheads the development of Mahindra’s ambitious electric vehicle portfolio, the XUV and BE brands, which are built on the state-of-the-art INGLO EV platform.

Velusamy is also the Joint Managing Director of Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited (MEAL) and serves as a Director on the Board of PF Holding B.V. His contributions extend beyond his corporate roles as he chairs the CMVR Committee at SIAM focusing on safety regulations.

He holds a B.Sc. from the University of Madras and a B-Tech in Automobile Engineering from Anna University, Chennai. Additionally, he has completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton Business School, The Mahindra Universe Program at Harvard University and the Global Program for Management Development at Michigan Ross School of Business. He was also a participant in the Mahindra Future Leadership Program (FLP).
