Mr. Vinod Sahay

President – Aerospace, Trucks, Buses & CE Chairman – SML Mahindra & Mahindra Advanced Technologies

Vinod Sahay leads Mahindra Group's Aerospace, Advanced Technologies, Trucks, Buses, and Construction Equipment businesses, with 5 CEOs of the sector reporting to him. He is contributing towards a larger purpose of advancing 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' through Advanced Defence Technologies, reshaping India's role in the global Aerospace Supply Chain, and reducing India's logistics costs through disruptive and innovative solutions in the Commercial Vehicles industry.

He is a member of Group Executive Board (GEB) of the Mahindra Group. He serves as a Board Member of several Mahindra Group companies and is the Chairman of all Defence and Aerospace entities within the Group. Additionally, he is also an Executive Chairman of SML Mahindra Ltd., where he is steering the newly acquired entity to accelerate growth and success of Group's Trucks & Buses business. With his deep industry expertise, Vinod is focused on long-term value creation by fostering synergies and driving sustainable growth for the business.

He chairs FICCI's Committee on Defence and Homeland Security. He has been appointed as a Special Invitee of SIAM's Executive Committee. He was also on board of CIE Automotive, Spain.

Previously, as President & Chief Purchase Officer, Vinod was responsible for USD 10 billion in annual procurement of automotive parts, capital goods, factory equipment, software, engineering services and all direct, indirect spends and services for Mahindra's Auto & Farm sector. He was also leading the Spares Business Unit of M&M in this role.

Since joining Mahindra in 2015 as COO of Mahindra Two-Wheelers, he has held several key roles, including CEO of Mahindra Two-Wheelers, CEO of Trucks & Buses, and Construction Equipment, and served on the board of Peugeot Scooters, France.

Before Mahindra, Vinod spent 17 years at Tata Motors, holding various leadership roles mostly in its Commercial Vehicles Business Unit. He holds a Bachelor's in Physics from Delhi University, a Master's in International Business and Marketing from Symbiosis, Pune, and is a Fulbright CII Fellowship Scholar from Institute of International Education – New York / Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA.

Vinod has also been recognized as India's most Inspirational Business Leader by White Page International.

Vinod lives in Mumbai with his wife and two children. He enjoys listening to soft music and ghazals.
